This Mom Found a Way to Get Free Toys From Pampers

Pampers Rewards Review: Real Mom’s Experience

Staff writer Kalynn Harshbarger of Savinly isn’t exactly wedded to one diaper brand. Still, after trying a few, she and her husband discovered Pampers fit their 18-month-old best — so why not take advantage of a loyalty program?

“We’re buying them anyway,” Kalynn explains, “so we might as well get something for free.”

The Pampers Rewards program genuinely seems to benefit regular buyers, with no hidden strings attached.

The couple stumbled onto the program the simple way: every qualifying package of Pampers diapers, wipes and training pants includes a tag bearing a Rewards code.

Go to Pampers.com to create an account. You’ll be prompted for an email and asked to set a password. After your account is created, you enter rewards codes, accumulate points and redeem them for a variety of complimentary items.

Pampers keeps the process straightforward, and the codes are attached to tags that are easy to remove from packaging. Kalynn and her husband usually peel off and stash the tags for a few months, then enter five or six codes at once.

Even so, Kalynn notes, it’s a fast task. “Not even five minutes — it takes seconds.”

How Many Points Can You Rack Up?

The family has participated in Pampers Rewards nearly since their child’s birth.

Over 18 months they accumulated 2,190 points. That’s with spending roughly $50 per month (around the U.S. average), buying a box of diapers about every six weeks.

Each diaper box or wipes pack carries a different point value, and the Pampers site shows how many points each product yields before purchase.

With many ways to cut diaper costs, score free packs or earn bonus points when buying them, Kalynn believes the Rewards points she gets for routine diaper purchases are a solid perk.

You can also gain points without purchasing diapers.

Pampers awards extra points for activities like reviewing items, reading certain articles and watching sponsored videos. Members also get occasional boosted offers — for example, triple points on your first diaper box of the month.

How Pampers Rewards Works

The process is simple:

  1. Locate the Rewards code on your Pampers diapers, wipes or training pants package.
  2. Submit the code at Pampers.com, via the mobile app or through text message.
  3. Sign in to your Pampers account to check your Rewards balance anytime.
  4. Once you have enough points, redeem them for the reward you want.
  5. The site indicates items should ship within four to six weeks.

The main drawback is the codes can be cumbersome. Each code is a random string of roughly 15 letters and numbers, so typing them in accurately can be fiddly.

To skip manually typing every code, Kalynn suggests using the Pampers Rewards smartphone app. Snap a photo of the code and the app inputs it for you.

That said, the app is relatively new and still smoothing out issues. You must sign in every time you open it, and codes for wipes sometimes require manual entry. For diaper boxes, though, it still saves time.

What Rewards Are Available?

You can cash in points at any time for baby items, family treats or a little something for yourself.

Even 10 points can earn an entry into sweepstakes for baby gear.

For 100 points you can grab a charming Dora and Diego potty training chart. There are plenty of Shutterfly options, such as a custom set of cards for 600 points. A yoga DVD for Mom is listed at 1,100 points.

After roughly 16 months, Kalynn redeemed 1,750 points for aMelissa & Doug Tool Kit, which retails for $14.99 at Target. She didn’t wait the stated 4–6 weeks — the toy arrived in about 10 days.

Extra Perks With Grow On

The bonus Grow On program is an automatic feature for Pampers Rewards members.

Simply submit at least one code per month and you’ll be eligible to pick from a bonus selection of rewards every quarter.

How to Preserve Your Points

Pampers Rewards don’t appear to expire, so you can save points for future children or redeem them as your kid grows.

Just don’t leave the account dormant for too long. Your points could be forfeited if your account is inactive for six months.

The program’s terms currently list an end date of December 31, 2015. But that date has been extended before — it showed up in December 2014 and earlier, according to member discussion boards. Each time a termination date neared, Pampers emailed members to announce the programwould continuewithout disruption.

So based on past behavior, it’s reasonable to expect the program will persist and your points will remain safe after the cutoff.
