Love Chick-fil-A? Then don’t miss your opportunity to grab your go-to item on Cow Appreciation Day — absolutely free.
Save the date to honor cows (and chicken sandwiches) on Tuesday, July 10. Participating locations will celebrate from opening until 7 p.m., and you do not need to be in a full cow suit.
Fun tidbit: Chick-fil-A introduced its cow campaign in 1995, showcasing billboards with three-dimensional cows holding the now-famous “Eat Mor Chikin” signs.
How to Get Complimentary Food at Chick-fil-A
There’s no longer any pretense that you must go all-out cow-themed to be rewarded.
Simply wear “any kind of cow-themed clothing” to receive a free entree. This applies to either breakfast or lunch menu items, depending on what time you visit.
Kids can also score a free kid’s meal by participating.
Note that salads are no longer included as a free entree option — a change the company made to streamline the process.
As always, you can’t go wrong with the classic Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich.
About Your Cow Appreciation Day Outfit
In past years, this yearly promotion required wearing an entire cow costume to earn a full free meal. Managers often had the latitude to gift free entrees to guests who were only partially dressed as cows (think hats and headbands).
These days, it’s a bit easier to qualify for your free grub.
Although you don’t have to be fully costumed as a cow, you might still consider buying a cow outfit just for the celebration.
Keep in mind it would take several years of Cow Appreciation Day visits to recoup the cost of a full costume through free sandwiches — unless you plan to wear it at a lot of Halloween bashes.
What’s a freebie-chasing, party-loving (farm) fan to do? We put together this simple flowchart to help you decide whether to dress up this year.
