A small mystery involving a misplaced Chick‑Fil‑A inflatable cow wrapped up with a happy outcome — both for the restaurant operator and the person who stumbled upon the prop.
The giant Chick‑Fil‑A inflatable cow, brandishing an “Eat Mor Chikin” placard, had been used at an Arizona State University football game. After staff from the restaurant loaded the prop onto the back of Phil Thomas’ company truck, the cow vanished during transit.
“This is the only 24‑foot inflatable cow in the state of Arizona,” Thomas, who runs two Chick‑Fil‑A locations in the Tempe area, told Fox 10.

How one person scored free chicken sandwiches for a year
Via Phoenix’s Fox 10, Thomas announced a reward: free Chick‑Fil‑A sandwiches for a year to whoever returned the 350‑pound inflatable cow.
Fortunately, someone noticed the cow in a neighborhood backyard and made the tip. When officers visited the address, the homeowner claimed he’d purchased it at a garage sale, thinking it was an inflatable bouncy castle.
ABC15 notes the cow has since been recovered and handed back to the local franchise.
The identity of the generous informant hasn’t been revealed, but we congratulate the person on their newly formed habit of enjoying chicken sandwiches.
Your turn: What’s the most regrettable thing you’ve picked up at a garage sale?
