What’s the first thing you’d pick up if you scored a big lottery win? A new place to live? A shiny new ride?
Well, HGTV is set to award one fortunate entrant both — plus $250,000 in cash — as part of its 2018 Dream Home Giveaway. Submissions open Dec. 27, 2017.

I might be a little biased: I’m a fan of HGTV, and I’ve tossed my name into the network’s past home giveaways dozens of times. Still, you have to agree this contest is pretty spectacular.
The grand prize includes a four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath residence in Gig Harbor, Washington, roughly a 45-mile trip from Seattle. Naturally, the waterfront estate comes completely furnished and styled — an HGTV enthusiast’s fantasy realized.
Originally constructed in the 1970s, the 3,500-square-foot property was renovated to reach dream-home standards. It’s a tri-level dwelling with relaxed, coastal-inspired furnishings and abundant space for hosting guests.

A second hour-long special covering everything from locating the property to applying the finishing design details will air on HGTV Jan. 1 at 8 p.m. ET.
Alongside the house, the top award includes a 2018 Honda Accord and $250,000 in cash to use however you like. The entire prize package is estimated at more than $1.8 million.
How to Enter for a Shot at Winning
Unlike buying a lottery ticket, this sweepstakes is free to enter.
For the greatest odds, submit entries online every day — once via HGTV’s site and once through the DIY Network site — through Feb. 16, 2018, at 5 p.m. ET. You can even register for email reminders so you remember to enter daily.
You may also mail in entries as frequently as you like — although that method does require postage costs.
To qualify, you must be a U.S. resident aged 21 or older. You may not be employed by any of the sweepstakes’ sponsors, nor live with or be an immediate family member of a sponsor employee. See the full official rules for complete eligibility details.
