When we covered Walmart stores discontinuing price matching at numerous sites, we ran into a major hurdle: the company wouldn’t disclose which stores were impacted.
Enter our remarkably helpful, clever and delightful Savinly readers.
We invited readers to report which stores had dropped the price-match policy. Over 200 people responded. From those tips we began building a map of Walmart locations that readers say have eliminated ad matching.
Charles Crowson, senior manager for corporate communications at Walmart, wouldn’t verify whether the stores on our reader-generated list have indeed ended ad matching.
So far, readers have identified 18 Walmart stores in Florida that have stopped the policy — more than any other state. New York, Georgia, Illinois and California follow closely. We haven’t gotten any reports from Alaska yet.
