Cowabunga! Chick-fil-A’s Beloved Mascots Return With 2.5 Million Food Prizes

Chick Fil A Free Food: Win Meals This Summer

You know Chick-fil-A’s cows, right? Those iconic mascots that show up in ads holding signs that read, “Eat Mor Chikin.”

Sure, the cows aren’t exactly spelling champions — they are cows, after all — but they’ve now taken center stage in a new online game that gives players a chance to snag free Chick-fil-A meals for six weeks this summer.

How Can I Get Free Food From Chick-fil-A?

Launched Wednesday, the digital experience is named Code Moo. To try it out, visit playCodeMoo.com. To redeem free menu items, you’ll need to be part of the restaurant’s rewards program, Chick-fil-A One. When you begin the game, you’ll be asked to sign into your rewards account.

The game is designed primarily for mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. (If you open it on a desktop, the site provides a QR code to access the mobile version.) Each Wednesday during the promotion, a new mission drops and you’ll assist the Chick-fil-A cows in outsmarting their fictional competitor, Circus Burger.

Complete the six weekly missions between June 21 and Aug. 1 and you could win one of 2.5 million food prizes each week while supplies last. Every new mission unlocks a different menu reward, such as a complimentary chicken sandwich, nuggets or waffle fries.

Beyond the weekly giveaways, players who finish all six challenges will be entered into a sweepstakes for either free Chick-fil-A for a year or a trip for two to the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship. (The contest’s terms clarify that “free Chick-fil-A for a year” equals 52 free chicken sandwich meals.)

All the Cow-Themed Gear You Might Want

The Chick-fil-A cows first appeared on billboards in 1995 and have been part of the brand’s identity ever since. Now, nearly three decades later, they’re expanding into new media.

In addition to leading this summer’s online game, the cows will feature in an animated short and a merchandise collection dubbed The Cow Collection.

“The Chick-fil-A cows have been a beloved part of the brand for nearly three decades and carry a contagious spirit everywhere they go, reminding our guests to laugh and appreciate the little things around them,” said Joe Saracino, a senior vice president for the chain. “We’re thrilled to have the cows back — so much so that we’re letting them run the show this summer.”

The cow-themed merchandise becomes available Monday, June 26, at shop.chick-fil-a.com. The collection includes items like a beach towel, a paddle ball set and a visor. Prices range from $12 to $55 and the items will be sold for a limited window. If you’re a big fan of cows, this might be your moment.

Starting Monday, some Chick-fil-A locations will also carry a Cow Party board game along with new cow plush toys and keychains.

The cows’ animated short, titled “Tha Billboard,” is slated to arrive in July. A trailer for the short is available to view here, and it depicts the cows plotting to undermine a Circus Burger billboard.

Still, the headline draw this summer remains the free food.
