Frugal Student Scholarship — $2,000 Award

We’re thrilled to announce Savinly.com’s $2,000 “Frugal Student” Scholarship.

Students make up a large portion of the Savinly community and we’re always searching for creative ways to help them save more. This year we’re awarding a $2,000 scholarship to one student who demonstrates inventive budgeting and thriftiness.

We understand students have packed schedules, so we kept the entry process extremely simple. Tell us in 150 words or less the most outrageous, amusing, intriguing, original, or inventive way you’ve ever saved money or earned extra cash.

We all know the usual strategies to pinch pennies: stash cash somewhere you can’t reach it, cut out unnecessary spending, pick up a side gig or two, and so on. But do you have a genuinely uncommon method to make or save money? Share your approach! You could teach our audience a useful trick, and your frugal ingenuity might win you $2,000 in our Frugal Student Scholarship contest!

When the submission window closes, we’ll showcase our favorite entries so the whole community can learn from your achievements.

Criteria

Here’s what you need to do to apply for the scholarship:

Entry Period

Submissions for the $2,000 Frugal Student Scholarship sponsored by Savinly.com will be accepted starting at 12:00am Eastern Time (ET) on March 1, 2015 and must be received no later than 11:59pm (ET) on December 31, 2015. Only fully completed applications will be eligible.

Savinly.com will review the submissions and select a winner by March 1, 2016.

Claiming Your Scholarship

Winners will be notified by March 1, 2016 and the winner announcement will be published online at Savinly.com by April 10, 2016. The selected recipient will have ten business days to claim their scholarship as outlined in the Official Rules, Terms and Conditions. If the winner fails to claim the award within ten business days, they will be disqualified and an alternate recipient will be chosen.
