The Amazon acquisition of Whole Foods is about more than just being able to grab an Echo while you’re shopping for organic sunflower seeds or whatever shoppers pick up at Whole Foods.
If you belong to Amazon Prime, you can also score some savings for your Thanksgiving feast.
Amazon Prime subscribers can sign in andprint a couponto get a discount on turkey at Whole Foods through Nov. 26. “These turkeys are animal welfare rated, sourced from farms Whole Foods Market knows, and raised with no antibiotics, ever,” the retailer said in a press release.
The coupon reduces the cost for whole organic turkeys from $3.49 per pound to $2.99 per pound. If you prefer a conventional whole turkey — where does a non-organic turkey get its diet? Chips and candy? — you’ll pay $1.99 per pound with the coupon instead of the normal $2.49 per pound.
The USDA lists recent per-pound prices at roughly 85 cents for frozen turkey and about $1.67 for fresh turkey.
Whole Foods has also cut prices on other items you might need for your Thanksgiving spread, like eggs, potatoes, canned pumpkin and olive oil. If you’re looking for tips on keeping your grocery bill down beyond these deals, check out this guide on how to save money at whole foods.
