Let’s Be Frank: These 10 Places Have the Hottest Deals for Hot Dog Day

National Hot Dog Day Deals & Freebies

Hot dogs are the classic American fare. When Franklin Delano Roosevelt entertained the king and queen of England, he offered them hot dogs. If they were fit for royalty, they’ll do just fine for you.

Coincidentally, Wednesday, July 19, is National Hot Dog Day, and plenty of promotions are available. Several regional and national chains will be offering hot dog specials that day.

Where to Find Free or Reduced-Price Hot Dogs on National Hot Dog Day

Below are the top hot dog promotions and discounts:

Dog Haus

This chain operates more than 90 spots across the U.S. On Wednesday, participating locations will hand out free “Haus Dogs,” which are all-beef franks served on King’s Hawaiian rolls. There are six varieties, spanning from “Cowboy” to “Downtown” to “Chili the Kid.”

Hamburger Stand

This Western fast-food brand has outlets in Arizona, California, Colorado and Wyoming. On Wednesday, you can pick up four chili dogs for just $4. The chain requires that you purchase them in sets of four to qualify for the promotional price.

Love’s

With over 600 Love’s Travel Stops across 42 states, the chain is participating too. On Wednesday, members of the Love’s Connect travel and rewards app can claim a free hot dog or another roller-grill item.

Nathan’s Famous

You’ll need to visit Nathan’s during lunchtime to snag this offer.

Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nathan’s locations will sell hot dogs for a nickel — the original price from when Nathan’s opened in 1916. (These days the regular price is about $2.99.) This is Nathan’s yearly tradition for Hot Dog Day, so set a reminder.

Original Hot Dog Factory

Again, timing matters: From noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, you can receive a free all-American hot dog with no purchase required.

This Georgia-based chain has five locations in Atlanta, five elsewhere in Georgia and single locations in Charlotte, Memphis, Miami, New Jersey and Philadelphia.

Philly Pretzel Factory

With about 170 locations across 15 states, Philly Pretzel Factory offers more than pretzels — they also serve pretzel dogs, which are franks encased in pretzel dough.

On Wednesday, you can buy a pretzel dog for only $1 instead of the usual $3. No extra purchase is necessary.

Pilot Flying J

The nation’s largest truck-stop operator is joining in. If you use Pilot Flying J’s myRewards Plus app, you can get BOGO hot dogs on Wednesday — and this promotion isn’t limited to lunchtime hours.

Sonic

If you prefer to stay in your car, this drive-in is the one to visit. Sonic operates in every state with more than 3,500 locations.

On Wednesday, Sonic’s Chili Cheese Coney Dog will be priced at only $1.29 (regularly around $3.39).

Target

Meh. This isn’t the most exciting bargain on the list.

If you’re enrolled in the Target Circle rewards program, you can take 25% off Ball Park hot dogs at the Target food counter on Wednesday.

Wienerschnitzel

The hot dog chain with the most Germanic name has locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, New Mexico, Nevada, Texas, Utah and Washington.

Wienerschnitzel, which is part of the same company that owns Hamburger Stand, is offering the identical deal on Wednesday: four chili dogs for just $4.

There you go — ten national and regional restaurants where you can properly observe National Hot Dog Day.

Is a hot dog a sandwich? It’s irrelevant to us, as long as it’s a steal.
