Here’s an offer that pairs two of our top pleasures: complimentary pizza and long-range three-point shots in basketball.
Did we mention the free pizza part?
Mellow Mushroom is offering a free small cheese pizza to anyone who installs anew gaming app.
The restaurant typically serves its 10-inch small pizza cut into four slices, and it usually sells for $7.99.
The app is the ACC 3 Point Challenge, which you can download here. It’s free to get from both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
In the digital game, players take part in basketball shooting contests. Fans can play as the squad from their chosen Atlantic Coast Conference school and attempt three-point shootout-style shots. Users can jump into quick games or try to survive and progress through online tournaments.
Players who download or update the app will be sent an electronic coupon for the free pizza, valid at any Mellow Mushroom location. The expanding chain operates 180 restaurants across 21 states.
Mellow Mushroom, which began in Atlanta, serves as a sponsor for ACC sports broadcasts.
The conference includes 15 universities, and the app encourages you to choose one and represent: “Think you can make it rain from beyond the arc, with the clock winding down and everything on the line? Pick your favorite ACC school and compete as their top shooter, or take some practice shots on our playground court.”
When you go to redeem your free cheese pizza, note the conditions: It’s for dine-in only and limited to one redemption per party.
Heads up: You’ll almost certainly be tempted to add something else with that pizza. Beyond pizzas and hoagies, the chain is famed for its extensive beer lineup.
Your Turn: Which do you prefer — three-point shots or pizza?
