DIY Network Ultimate Retreat Giveaway Details

I enjoy poring over before-and-after shots, wandering the aisles of Home Depot and binge-watching reruns of Chip and Jo as they revamp house after house in Waco, Texas.

Actually tackling a renovation myself is another matter. I’ve rented for most of my adult life, so I haven’t had the chance to tear down walls or lay tile. I sometimes wonder if I’d really have the nerve to take on a fixer-upper — or the budget to make it happen.

If only someone would hand me the keys to a perfectly remodeled house, I’d be over the moon. If you share that fantasy, you should take a look at DIY Network’s 2018 Ultimate Retreat home giveaway.

The network is awarding a beautifully renovated 2,500-square-foot home in Sapphire, North Carolina. This three-bedroom, 2 1/2-bath property is valued at approximately $778,630.

The house is delivered fully furnished and styled. (Be sure to browse the photo gallery and video tours!) The great room features a two-sided fireplace that also serves the multi-tiered outdoor deck. The master suite flows into a study. Another bedroom is laid out as a children’s space with built-in double bunks and a paint-by-numbers inspired mural.

Plus, the grand prize winner will receive $50,000 in cash.

To enter, you must be a U.S. resident aged 21 or older. You may submit two entries per day online — one via DIY Network’s entry page and one via HGTV’s site. Mail-in entries are also accepted without limit (though postage applies). The entry period runs through September 26 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

DIY Network will pick the winner by random drawing on or around Oct. 8. The fortunate recipient will be notified between Oct. 22 and Nov. 5.

While the house is spectacular, DIY Network understands that not everyone wants to relocate to the North Carolina mountains. The grand prize winner may opt to take $400,000 in cash instead of the deed to the home — and they would still receive the $50,000 cash award.
