I’m not referring to the IRS. I mean Bed Bath & Beyond.
Farewell, single-use coupon. Hello, yearly membership!
That’s right, membership.
The national home-goods chain and purveyor of every household item I crave (but rarely know how to use) has launched its new Beyond+ Beta membership program.
What the Beyond+ Beta Offers
For $29 per year plus applicable taxes, members receive 20% off every purchase they make in Bed Bath & Beyond stores and online.
Members also enjoy free standard shipping on every web order. Now that’s music to my ears. My inner Abbi Jacobson is doing cartwheels. If you watched “Broad City,” you know what I mean.
What the Bed Bath & Beyond Membership Doesn’t Cover
Not so fast. Dreaming of stacking that 20% off single-item coupon with the 20% off your whole purchase perk? Unfortunately, that won’t work.
The membership discount cannot be combined with any other coupon, special offer, price match or sale. Major disappointment.
Also, free shipping excludes additional surcharges and oversized items.
Sadly, there are other exclusions. The 20% discount won’t apply to certain brands and products such as A Pea in the Pod, Kate Spade, Under Armour, Vitamix, diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, portrait studio services and more. Check the complete list of exclusions under “Offer Exclusions” on the terms and conditions page.
Other Important Details
Once you sign up, there’s no going back easily. The membership fee is nonrefundable and will auto-renew unless you cancel before the one-year term ends. You can cancel online or by contacting Bed Bath & Beyond customer service at 1-866-532-6826.
At the moment, the beta program is only available in the U.S.
How It Might Save You Money and Time
If you’re not intimidated by the fine print, this could be a smart value — especially if you, like me, place an order only to remember another item later and then incur extra shipping charges.
Or instead of hoarding a stack of mashed-up coupons in your purse and delaying the line while you search for one, you can get savings every time without the hassle.
Also remember the program is in its early stages — hence “beta” — so Bed Bath & Beyond may tweak benefits as it refines the offering.
Not ready to sign up? That’s fine. There are other ways to save at Bed Bath & Beyond, including bed bath and beyond coupons and guides to bed bath and beyond savings.
