Sorry Kiddos, This Home Improvement Giant is No Longer Doing Workshops

Lowes Build And Grow — Workshops No Longer Offered

Do you enjoy starting Saturday mornings knowing there’s a hands-on activity planned for the kids? If so, you may be bummed to discover that Lowe’s has discontinued its in-store Build and Grow workshops.

The initiative used to provide hour-long sessions where children could finish craft projects with guidance from Lowe’s employees.

“We were honored to host this program for more than a decade and are grateful to everyone who participated and supported it,” said Lowe’s representative Jennifer Popis in an email. “We don’t currently have a program that replaces Build and Grow, but we’re continually looking at new and creative ways to inspire, teach and connect with customers while supporting the communities we serve.”

Lowe’s Still Provides Tutorials — Just Not Inside Stores

If your household enjoys DIY tasks, you can still make use of Lowe’s How-To Library.

Even better, Lowe’s YouTube channel is loaded with step-by-step videos for learners of all ages.

Some tutorials worth a look:

Make a Fruit Bowl from Wooden Dowels — We’ll bet the kids’ versions often turn out nicer than the grown-ups’.

How Do I Use a Power Drill? — Full disclosure: I know an adult who could use this refresher…and she might be the author of this piece.

In contrast, rival the Home Depot continues to run regular in-store DIY sessions, including seasonal workshops aimed at parents and kids.
