The sweepstakes is available to lawful residents of these states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Missouri, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, or Washington. Entrants must also be at least 21 years old.
Signing up is straightforward: simply provide your name, phone number, and state of residence on theonline entry form. You may also submit an entry via text message or regular mail.
Deciding what to do with your newly won 10-acre tract could prove trickier.
“THIS PROPERTY IS LIKELY NOT ELIGIBLE TO BE BUILT ON OR DEVELOPED IN ANY MANNER,” the official contest rules state in uppercase. The land carries an Exclusive Farm Use (EFU) zoning designation.
If farming appeals to you, the zoning details allow activities like beekeeping and cultivating and selling Christmas trees.
Even with those limitations, contestants have it far easier than the early pioneers — you won’t need oxen, a covered wagon, or to ford rivers to reach and enjoy this property.
