No matter where you land on the couponing continuum, it’s always nice when a retailer makes saving money a bit simpler.
That’s why we’re fans of Midwestern superstore Meijer’s mPerks, which logs in-store rewards, coupons and discounts with just a click or a swipe on your smartphone.
Let’s get to saving.
How to Use Meijer mPerks to Save Money
First, make sure there’s a Meijer near you to shop in person or to have purchases delivered. There are over 240 locations across Michigan (where the chain began), Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Wisconsin.
Here’s our Savinly guide to using Meijer mPerks:
1. Create a Meijer mPerks Login
Signing up is fast and straightforward — enter your name, email address, password and zip code.
You’ll also provide your phone number and set a PIN so you can access rewards easily in-store — no memorizing a lengthy password needed!
After that, you can opt in to receive email newsletters and alerts about exclusive deals, promotions and freebies.
2. Clip Coupons — Digitally

Put the scissors away.
With mPerks, you can clip coupons digitally. When you enter your mPerks number at checkout, the coupons automatically apply to your transaction.
The digital clipping feature is excellent — the platform suggests coupons based on your buying patterns, and you can search for offers by product name.
If a coupon isn’t relevant to you, hit the “Not Interested” button to remove it from your recommendations.
That way, you’ll refine which offers you see and save time you would have spent sifting through irrelevant deals.
You can select up to three rewards categories, covering everything from electronics to brand-targeted rewards — current promotions include Purina and Unilever.
There’s even a “total purchase” reward: Spend $200 in four weeks and receive $7 back.
If you spend $50 a week on groceries, that’s an easy win.
Bam. Extra money back.
3. Fill Your Prescriptions
Inside the “Rewards” area of mPerks, you’ll find a pharmacy subsection.
If you fill prescriptions regularly, be sure to check that section to unlock additional freebies.
After filling five prescriptions at Meijer, you earn a credit that can be redeemed for various useful rewards. Two credits can translate into $10 off your entire purchase on a future visit.
Turns out your medication can be good for your health… and your budget.
4. Pay the Smart Way
Good money-saving advice worth repeating: Improve any deal by stacking savings.
Even if you don’t carry Meijer’s store credit card, use a cash-back rewards card to recoup a portion of every dollar you spend.
You can also visit sites like Raise to pick up discounted gift cards that chip a bit more off your total.
But if you are a Meijer cardholder, you get extra perks.
Cardholders qualify for $10 off a purchase each time they charge $750 on the card and receive 10 cents off per gallon at Meijer Gas Stations, plus access to special savings events.
5. Stay Organized and Up to Date
Now that you’ve ditched the scissors, say goodbye to the coupon binder — and your messy handwritten shopping list while you’re at it.
Manage your clipped coupons, earned rewards and rewards in progress in your mPerks digital wallet.
There’s also an integrated shopping list feature so you can print it or share it via email.
Enable digital receipts to store digital copies of your purchase receipts over time, helping you monitor spending without collecting piles of paper.
The system also tracks your cumulative Meijer spending — and your savings — in an easy-to-read graphic that separates savings from mPerks, coupons and promotions.
6. Save Money… and Time
Meijer mPerks makes it simple to save every time you shop there — and you don’t need to dedicate extra hours each week to comb through the circular and cut along dotted lines.
You can even apply mPerks rewards retroactively to purchases if you forget to use your rewards number in-store. Just scan or manually enter details from your receipt.
It’s clear Meijer WANTS to help you save…
So why say no?
